An FRH heats food without the need for fire, safely and quickly. mre food heaters are used easily in situations where fire is prohibited or not recommended; making the self heating FRH ideal for soldiers in the field; campers, hunters, boaters; or anyone interested in emergency preparedness. FRH mre heaters are small (playing card size), weigh less than one ounce, and are easy to store (360 heaters take up only 1.4 cubic feet). Food Heaters have a five year shelf life. Spent pads are easily disposed of, with no toxic materials. The FRHs are made from powdered food grade iron, magnesium, and sodium. Each FRH is individually packaged in a sturdy, leak-proof polybag which serves as the heating container for the MRE. Simply open the top of the FRH polybag sleeve, add plain water to the "Fill Line", and fold the bag in half. Place the heater next to the MRE food portion, and slide both back into the MRE box.
